Thanksgiving turkey recipes - A group of first grade students from Southside Elementary school in Pike County came up with their recipes for how to prepare Thanksgiving dinner. In total, 23 students in Ms. Kendra Staton’s class came up with a number of different ways to cook a turkey for Thursday. Who knows, maybe these children are on to something. The description in preparing the meal following the ingredients are straight from the students themselves.
First up, Victoria Hylton. For her recipe, you’ll need a turkey, oil, cranberries, hot sauce, flour and cheese. “Put the turkey in the pan. Put the hot sauce on top of the turkey. Put the oil beside it. Put the cranberries under the turkey. Put the cheese and flour on top of the turkey.” Cook it for nine minutes at 70 degrees.
Luke Davis’ recipe calls for a turkey, salt, pepper and stuffing. First, “put the turkey in the pan. Then put stuffing in the turkey. Then pour salt and pepper on it.” After eight minutes at 70 degrees, it’s time to dig in.
Zoey Perrigan suggests a different route, with a turkey, peppers, cheese, oil, salt and eggs. “Take the paper off of the turkey. Put oil and salt on it. Put cheese and macaroni on it.” Cook five minutes at 100 degrees.
Meanwhile, Jeremy Thacker combines three meats for dinner. For this, you need a turkey, ham, chicken and flour. “You put the ham in the turkey. Then you put the chicken in the turkey. Put the flour in the turkey. Put the turkey in the oven.” Cook for five hours at 900,000 degrees and dig in.
Morgan Hyden calls for a turkey, one egg, potatoes, onions, milk, salt and cheese. “Put the turkey in the pan. Put the egg around it. Put the turkey in the oven. Put the potatoes and cheese in the turkey. Put the onions on too.” Cook for 60 minutes at 70 degrees.
Brandon Lovell’s order needs a turkey, cranberries, hot sauce and salt. “Put the turkey in the pan. Then you put the turkey in the oven. Put the cranberries, salt, and hot sauce on the turkey.” After eight minutes at 600 degrees, dinner is served.
Sammy Smith’s dinner involves a turkey, pepper, salt and milk. “We need a pan first. Put the milk on the turkey. Put the salt on the turkey. Put the pepper on the turkey.” Cook 70 minutes at a temperature between 70 and 80 degrees.
Skyler Williamson’s dish needs only a turkey, flour and hot sauce. “Put the turkey on the pan. Put the hot sauce on the turkey. Put the flour in the turkey.” In only three minutes at seven degrees, it is ready.
Joshua Smith also only needs three ingredients: a turkey, eggs and cranberries. “Put the turkey in the pan. Put eggs around it. Put cranberries on the turkey.” One minute at 10 degrees and it’s eating time.
Alex Kennedy calls for a turkey, oil, eggs and cheese. “Put the turkey in the pan. Put the cheese, eggs, and oil on the turkey.” At 20 degrees, only an hour of cooking is needed. Bon appetit.
Jamyson Hammond’s meal calls for a turkey, oil, eggs and peppers. “Put the turkey in the pan. Put the eggs on the turkey. Put the oil and peppers on the turkey.” Cook 10 minutes at 100 degrees.
Xavier Webb requires a turkey, stuffing, flour and cranberries. “Cook the turkey. Put the flour in it and the stuffing too. Put the cranberries on top.” Start early though, as it requires 80 hours of cooking at 30 degrees.
Bryan Adkins needs only a turkey, oil and cranberries. “Put the turkey in the pan. Put the oil and cranberries on the turkey.” Cook for two hours at 50 degrees.
Issac Cassell just needs a turkey, salt and pepper, but is precise in direction. “Put the turkey in the pan. Add two shakes of salt and two shakes of pepper. Then put it in the oven.” Cook 10 minutes at 10 degrees.
Zoey Caudill calls for a turkey, flour, eggs and hot sauce. “Put the turkey in the pan. Put the flour on the turkey. Put the eggs around the turkey. Put the hot sauce on the turkey. Put the turkey in the oven.” Cook three hours at eight degrees.
MaKaden Maynard calls for a big list of a turkey, oil, cranberries, salt, pepper, flour, cheese and milk. “Put the turkey in the pan. Put the milk on the turkey. Put the oil on the turkey. Put salt and pepper on the turkey. Put cheese on the turkey.” Cook for 17 hours at 100 degrees.
Curtis Finley needs a turkey, eggs, flour and onions for Thanksgiving dinner. “Put the turkey in the pan. Put the eggs in a bowl and then pour them over the turkey. Put the flour on the turkey. Put the onions on the turkey.” Cook for five minutes at five degrees.
Seth Hunt uses a turkey, oil, eggs and cranberries. “Put the turkey in the pan. Put the oil on the turkey. Put the turkey in the oven. Put the eggs on the turkey. Put the cranberries around the turkey.” Cook it for eight hours at 20 degrees.
Kiera Rose calls for a turkey, cranberries, egg, cheese and stuffing. “Put the turkey in the pan. Put the cranberries around it. Put the eggs on it. Put the hot sauce on it. Put the cheese around it. Put the stuffing in the turkey.” Cook for a precise 52 minutes at 70 degrees.
Kerri Hubbard’s recipe needs a turkey, eggs, salt and flour. “I put the turkey in the oven. I put the salt on the turkey. I put flour in the turkey. I put eggs around the turkey.” Cook for six minutes at 100 degrees.
Hailee Fitch needs a turkey, cranberries, salt, stuffing and eggs for dinner. “Put the turkey in the pan. Put the cranberries around the turkey. Put the salt on the turkey. Put the stuffing around the turkey. Put the eggs around the turkey too and then put the turkey in the oven.” Cook for half a day, 12 hours, at 70 degrees.
Jayden Mullins requires a turkey, pepper, cheese, hot sauce, cranberries and eggs. “Put the turkey in the pan. Put the pepper on the turkey. Put the cheese around the turkey. Put the hot sauce on the turkey. Put the cranberries on the turkey. Put the eggs on the turkey.” Cook 50 minutes at 70 degrees.
Faith Runyon calls for a turkey, cranberries, salt and oil. “Put the turkey in the pan. Put the cranberries on the turkey. Put the oil on the pan. Put the salt on the turkey. Put the turkey in the oven.” Cook 10 minutes at 70 degrees.
Regardless of how anyone decides to cook a Thanksgiving turkey, it is hoped that everyone has a safe and happy holiday.
