Nick Cannon Defends Mariah’s “Trust” Comment on The View
Nick Cannon Defends Mariah’s “Trust” Comment on The View - Nick Cannon appeared on The View yesterday to address an intense moment between him and his wife of nearly four years, Mariah Carey, during their recent Barbara Walter’s interview, where they revealed their six-month-old twins Monroe and Moroccan for the first time. Walters asked Carey if she trusted Cannon, and she replied, “Sometimes.”
On The View, Nick addressed his wife’s controversial answer by saying that he loved it because she kept it real and she did not give “the quick TV answer, ‘everything’s perfect.’” He reminded the world that Mariah has been in relationships that have made her a little leery about love.
“My wife has been in previous situations where it has been a little untrustworthy for her,” said Nick. “It’s hard for her to trust people. And as her husband I said that I am going to step up and take that responsibility of making this woman trust me. So it’s a day to day process.”
Carey made it clear on the Walter’s special that initially she was afraid of the concept of marriage again. (Her first husband, who reportedly “controlled her” was music executive Tommy Mottola). But this is a different situation and she is a different person. “No one will ever steal my spirit again. I am just happy to be in love.”
