Lady Gaga's 'heated' split with creative director

Lady Gaga's 'heated' split with creative director - Lady Gaga has confirmed that she has parted ways with her long-time creative director, stylist and choreographer Laurieann Gibson. According to the website MediaTakeOut, Gibson was fired over the Telephone after an argument last week.

“A lot of things were said, and it was really heated,” an announcement reported.

Rumours of an ongoing clash of egos between the collaborative duo had surfaced this summer, particularly regarding the filming of Lady Gaga's two videos Edge of Glory and You and I.

There is reason to believe that the use of religious iconography has highlighted their creative differences. Gibson admitted that working on Gaga's Judas video (May, 2011), which included crosses and the death of Jesus, made her feel uneasy.

The choreographer was also accused of spending too long posing for photographs at September's Creative Arts Emmys.

The news has come as a surprise to some in the industry, given how closely the pair have worked. Gibson has choreographed 13 of Lady Gaga's most successful videos, including Poker Face, the viral hit which kick-started the singer's career in 2008.

Entertainment Weekly's Kyle Anderson called the news a "bit strange, because Gaga's circle of people is so small, and all those people have been with her since pretty much the duration. She's really, really loyal."
