Kim Kardashian: I will keep £1.2million ring
Kim Kardashian: I will keep £1.2million ring - Kim Kardashian will keep her £1.2million diamond engagement ring despite breaking up with her husband just 72 days after their wedding, her mum has revealed. Basketball star Kris Humphries was reportedly hoping to get the 20.5 carat rock back.
But Kim's mum — also named Kris — rubbished the idea. Promoting her new book on breakfast TV, the mum of six, 55, said of the ring: "It's a gift — you keep a gift."
Kim, who manages the family brand, then sparked outrage by adding: "I hate an Indian giver."
It is considered to be offensive to American Indians as it describes a person who gives a present and later wants it back.
Reality TV beauty Kim — who has been in Sydney, Australia, to launch a handbag collection with sister Khloe — has looked under strain since it emerged she was filing for divorce earlier this week.
Critics have claimed that the short-lived marriage was a "publicity stunt" and a "sham" to make money.
Reports suggest that the couple's £6.2million ceremony earned them £11million from magazine deals, TV coverage and endorsements.
But Kris stepped in earlier this week to reassure fans that her 31-year-old daughter "didn't make a dime".
She said: "The one thing that is the most annoying is the rumour that she made millions off this wedding.
"She didn't make a dime and, actually, spent millions of dollars on the wedding — so it's not something that she thought would ever not be happily ever after."
And in an emotional blog posted on her website, Kim insisted she did marry for love.
