J.R. Martinez wows on 'Dancing with the Stars'

J.R. Martinez wows on 'Dancing with the Stars' - J.R. Martinez could do no wrong last night on "Dancing with the Stars." The Iraq war veteran and soap opera actor turned in two perfect performances that each earned a full score of 30, making him the first dancer of the season to hold onto every possible point.

Martinez's waltz to "What the World Needs Now" had the judges spouting praise: "It was like a musical Valentine card," said judge Bruno Tonioli. "It was divine."

"The whole room was caught up in the magic," echoed judge Carie Ann Inaba. "It felt like you brought all of us into that dance. It was a wonderful feeling."

In addition to their usual performance, contestants this week were also asked to do an "instant dance," where they had only minutes to fit their choreography to music. And the judges were equally impressed with Martinez's jive to Little Richard's "Tutti Frutti." Judge Len Goodman said of the performance, "You’ve got the x-factor and the feel-good factor, mixed together."

While he couldn't keep up with Martinez, Rob Kardashian turned in his best night on the show to date by pleasing the judges with his quickstep. Goodman called it "your best dance so far," while Tonioli added, "It's incredible the improvement."

He didn't fare as well as Martinez, however, and Kardashian ended the night with a score of 51 out of 60, behind Hope Solo and Ricki Lake who had tying scores of 52 points. Nancy Grace finished behind the pack with a score of 44.

Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian beamed in the audience watching their brother dance, along with Kris and Bruce Jenner and baby Mason Dissick. Kim Kardashian was conspicuously absent, staying out of the limelight following her divorce announcement last week.

"Kim is a hopeless romantic," Kris Jenner told "Extra" later in the night. "So she wants the fairy tale. She wanted to get married and have babies and raise a family and the white picket fence and all that comes with that. She's a really good person with a huge heart ... She needs to do what she's doing, and cry and figure it out."
