First look at X Factor finalists' single
First look at X Factor finalists' single - And though boybands One Direction and JLS also feature on the cover of Rose Royce classic Wishing On A Star, they take a back seat until the track's grand finale. THE X Factor finalists shine on this year's charity single. Boybands One Direction and JLS, who also feature on the cover of Rose Royce classic Wishing On A Star, take a back seat to allow the show's 16 finalists to showcase their talents.
It's not until past the three-minute mark that the two groups appear on the track to take part in its grand finale.
Misha B takes vocal duties first – kicking off a credible updating of the 1978 Top Three hit.
Lines are then sung by show stars including Sami Brookes, Marcus Collins, 2 Shoes, Janet Devlin and Amelia Lily.
The video features the hopefuls meeting youngsters helped by charity Together For Short Lives.
All proceeds from the single will go to the organisation – the UK's only charity representing the estimated 23,500 children and young people across the UK who are unlikely to reach adulthood.
The clip concludes with One Direction and JLS joined by the final 16 for a rousing final airing of the song's chorus.
JLS commented: "It's an absolute pleasure to have been invited to feature on the new X Factor charity single. It's all for a great cause."
One Direction added: "We're really excited to be singing on the X Factor charity single for a second year in a row. Together For Short Lives is an amazing and important charity and we're honoured to be asked to help raise lots of money for them."
"It's a fantastic song choice, filled with hope. This song is one of my favourites of all time," said Marcus Collins.
