Concerns over her health were raised after she shed weight in the wake of allegations her husband had cheated on her. But it appears Demi Moore is in need of an energy boost after Ashton Kutcher has found himself embroiled in yet another scandal. The actress, 48, was seen clutching an energy drink and appeared extremely tense as she stepped out in Beverly Hills today.

Demi had covered her thin frame in a zigzag print knit cardigan and a pair of brown trousers which hung loosely around her slim legs.

It’s no surprise the star looked under strain after her husband of six years stepped into the middle of a media storm following an ill-advised late night tweet.

The Two and a Half Men star tweeted a remark regarding football team coach Joe Paterno, who has been embroiled in a child sexual abuse scandal.

And following the storm of protest surrounding his apparent support of the controversial football coach he today handed over the control of his account to his management team.

Scores of Twitter users blasted the 33-year-old actor for his unguarded remarks.

On a long explanatory post on his blog, he wrote: 'Up until today I have posted virtually every one of my tweets on my own, but clearly the platform has become too big to be managed by a single individual.

'While I will continue to express myself through @Aplusk I'm going to turn the management of the feed over to my team at Katalyst Media to ensure the quality of it's content.'

He went on to explain that he did not have the full facts before posting the tweet about the sacking of Pennsylvania State University coach Joe Paterno.

At about 12.30am this morning, he wrote on his official account: 'How do you fire Jo Pa? #insult #noclass as a hawkeye [the University of Iowa football team] fan I find it in poor taste.'

Within minutes the term Jo Pa, a misspelt nickname of the legendary football coach, was trending on the social networking site as thousands of users ripped into the highly paid TV star.

His comment came after the news that Paterno, Penn State head coach for 46 years, had been fired for allegedly covering up sexual abuse by the school's former football defence coordinator Jerry Sandusky.

Ashton’s timing of his remarks brought him back in the public spotlight for the wrong reasons and comes in the wake of a sex scandal after he was accused of cheating on Demi over the weekend of their wedding anniversary.

Twenty-two year old Sara Leal claimed she had bedded the actor after spending a night partying in his hot tub with her friends.

His wife, actress Demi, has decided to stand by her husband amid the allegations though the strain of recent weeks has clearly taken its toll on her.

Commentators have noted that she has lost considerable weight and has appears to have aged considerably following the claims.
