Chelsea Handler, Andre Balazs break up

Chelsea Handler, Andre Balazs break up - Chelsea Handler and Andre Balazs have broken up after dating for less than a year. Handler, 36, and Balazs, 54, have not commented about the issue publicly. They were first spotted in public together in January. Handler's spokesperson told OnTheRedCarpet.com on Wednesday, November 9, that the two were no longer a couple, following a report by Us Weekly magazine.

On Monday, Handler appeared solo at Glamour magazine's annual Women of the Year Awards, which honored her and other female stars such as Jennifer Lopez and "Glee" actress Lea Michele (check out photos from the event).

Handler, a comedienne, is known for her talk show "Chelsea Lately," which airs on E! Entertainment Television. She plans to launch her own sitcom, which sees her playing her real-life sister and "That '70s Show" actress Laura Prepon playing the comedienne, on NBC in early 2012. It is called "Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea," which is also the name of one of her books.

Balazs heads a company that owns several hotels, including the Los Angeles properties the Chateau Marmont and The Standard, which are popular celebrity venues. He has in the past been linked romantically to Uma Thurman and Courtney Love.

Handler has in the past dated Ted Harbert, chairman of NBC Broadcasting, which merged with Comcast, owner of E! Entertainment Television. The two ended their four-year relationship in early 2010. The following summer, Handler went on to date Canadian zoologist and Animal Planet star Dave Salmoni. The two broke up in September 2010.
